An IPL photofacial is a minimally invasive procedure that entails little to no downtime!  LUMECCA uses short pulses of light to penetrate the skin and target brown-spots and tiny vessels, resulting in more even toned healthier skin.

FAQ

HOW DOES A IPL PHOTOFACIAL WORK?

A IPL photofacial is incredibly efficient at treating multiple conditions. IPL photofacials delivers short pulses of broad-spectrum light to target melanin in brown spots and hemoglobin in blood vessels resulting in a more even skin tone. The long term benefits of consistent IPL treatments can also improve fine-lines and wrinkles!

WHAT TO EXPECT?

Mild temporary downtime such as swelling, redness, tenderness, and discomfort for 24-48 hours should be expected. Your dark spots may crust up finely before gently exfoliating from the skin surface. Improvement to brown spots and redness follow.

ARE IPL PHOTOFACIALS PAINFUL?

During treatment you will feel a warm "rubber-band snap," sensation as each pulse of light is delivered to the treatment area. Our specially curated combination of cold-air cooling, chilled ultrasound gel and uniquely compounded topical numbing ointment allow for this treatment to be very tolerable!

WHEN WILL I SEE RESULTS?

The effects of photofacials are typically noticeable within a few days and they can remain for years with professional skincare and regular maintenance! For optimal results, we suggest 3 treatments spaced 4-8 weeks apart, followed by 1-2 yearly sessions for maintenance and upkeep.

CAN IPL PHOTOFACIALS BE COMBINED WITH OTHER TREATMENTS?

IPL photofacials can be combined with a number of treatments to achieve synergistic aesthetic results! We often combine botox, fillers, and other laser treatments during a photofacial.

PREPARATIONS & AFTERCARE?

It is necessary to refrain from significant outdoor sun-exposure,  tanning and spray-tanning two-weeks prior to and after your photofacial. After your treatment, you should protect your skin by wearing a strong mineral-based sunscreen (SPF>50).

WHAT OTHER AREAS CAN A IPL PHOTOFACIAL TREAT?

Photofacials can treat most areas of the face and body. The most common areas include the face (i.e. usually excluding bearded areas) neck, decollate, hands, arms and legs.
